As an option, that would be great. Even make it to display either name, or custom text. Even have a bit of intelligence script that detect whether the landing was made in difficult conditions, or if the land so good or not.

For example:

"Commander Sascha Ledinsky makes an excellent landing in poor conditions" with picture and date.

I like the idea.

Here’s what I’d add:

Line one is your display name, e.g. “Commander Tom Watts” (you can change it in the user interface)
Line two depends on the game settings and your performance, and could be e.g.
“performs a perfect (night) landing at KSC”
“crashes Atlantis”
“crash-lands Atlantis”
“performs a hard landing at Edwards”
“safely lands Atlantis at KSC”
“performs a good landing at KSC”

I could use some help from a native English speaker here :D
Is “at KSC” ok or should it read “at the KSC”
“performs”, or is “makes” better?
Are the other sentences OK?
If you’ve got more ideas, let me know (the sentences should be pretty short though, think of it as a TV news insert).

I'd go for something like:

"Commander François Gilbert makes a perfect landing at KSC" and perhaps
"Commander François Gilbert touches down safely at KSC".
The others all seem good, possibly if there's room it would look better to write it as the Kenndy Space Centre instead of KSC and Edwards Air Force Base instead of just Edwards though.

NASA always seemed to describe the landings as "picture perfect", maybe for that extra NASA/American touch that would work?

I like that ! :D
btw, are there "ç" caracters on a UK keyboard ?

I guess by default it would read the username from Game Center ?

I'm sure this new video recording feature will add a lot of more YouTube videos. It will also be easier for us to beta test some graphical glitches that we can only show with a video :)

Yes, even the profile picture. For the name I can only get the alias. It’s a bit strange, GameCenter provides the full names of your friends, but the full name of the local player is always “me”. I guess it is a privacy feature, and I don’t want to ask for access to the address book just to get the player name. So the field will be populated with “Commander Game Center alias” and your profile picture, but you can change it (or remove it entirely).

In some cases perhaps, but if there is a glitch in real time rendering it won’t necessarily show up in the video too.

Tom, thanks a lot!

Btw, what should happen after an autoland-demo?
We could insert “The autopilot” instead of the pilot’s name, but what about

Commander Antoine Lenormand
lets the autopilot land Antlantis

(sorry Elefant ;))

or something like that?

Here’s how the insert looks:

Two more thoughts:
I think I’ll make the recording option only available if it’s at least a crash landing, not a crash (it says “landing replay” after all).
And I’ll disable the radio voices unless it’s at least a safe landing (to avoid running into any troubles with NASA).

Thats looks great Sascha.

For the autopilot how about something like:

"Commander Sascha Ledinsky watches on as Atlantis lands itself at the Kennedy Space Center." Maybe not quite like that, but I'll have a think and get back to you.

btw, are there "ç" caracters on a UK keyboard ?

No, but on the iOS virtual keyboard if you hold down the normal "c" it gives you the option for other versions of it, like "ç".

Why me ??????

You keep beating me in Real Racing :P

‘Option-c’ followed by ‘c’ does the trick on the Mac keyboard (mine’s a US International though—the German layout’s are horrible for writing code)
Commander Sascha Ledinsky watches on as Atlantis lands itself at the Kennedy Space Center.

 I like that.
