Non taken ;)

Just seen another typo. On the main screen the URL says www.fsim.com, not www.f-sim.com. Oh hang on, do you own both domain and repoint fsim.com to f-sim.com?

I meant to Android users.
It’s just that the iOS version was there first, so we also got support@… and now android-support@… too.

Yes, fsim.com redirects to f-sim.com
Once we find time to migrate the web page we’re gonna use fsim.com as the primary address.
Note that all mail accounts are still @f-sim.com though.

I think so (IIRC there’s no mail service configured on fsim.com — without the dash — right now)

Okay not a bug, but it took my iPod touch 4 gen over 30mins to render a 720 movie. I believe it took over 30minutes last night as I feel asleep in that time frame.

iPod touch 4

OK, I did some tests, and came up with the following matrix:

Devices* with OpenGL ES 1.1: no video recording
Devices** with OpenGL ES 2.0 and single core processor: max. 960 x 540 (medium quality)
Devices*** with OpenGL ES 2.0 and multi core processor: max. 1920 x 1080 (1080p)

* e.g. original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPod touch 1st and 2nd generation, iPod touch 3rg generation with 8GB
** e.g. iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 3rg generation with 16 or 32GB, iPod touch 4th generation, original iPad
*** e.g. iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch 5th generation, iPad2 or later, iPad mini

I think I’ll need iOS 6 for 1080p, the rest should run on iOS 5 too and probably even iOS 4 (need to test this).
[Edit: Nope, 1080p with main profile 4.1 is available in iOS5 too, which I’m using now (instead of 4.1 high profile)
I also think it’s all right to require iOS 5 for the video recording features.]

I won’t support video recording on iOS 3.

Short answer, no.
But if you have used a software called TinyUmbrella to save the ability to restore to a specific iOS, then it is possible. Otherwise, it is not possible.
I'm sending you in PM the post I made in the area 51 ;)

if you press the home button of the iDevice and come back from multitasking it will crash.

Alas, iOS’s “AVAssetWriter” (which I use to encode and save the video to file) does not support interruptions, and can’t even continue writing to the same file once it has been closed.
The only way would be to start rendering to a second (or third…) file after each interruption, and at the end create a new video file, read each audio and video frame from the set of saved files and append it to the new video file (if this last process got interrupted it had to start over, but this should be fast anyway as all frames have already been rendered and encoded).
This is certainly possible, but a lot of work.

So for now, if the recording process gets interrupted, I will display an alert an present an option to either cancel recording or start over. I know this isn’t optimal, maybe I can work on this in the next version, but for now I don’t want to lose too much time over this.
