It might be a false/positive. I was in a brightly sun lit room, then the sun went. I'm not ruling out the auto-brightness mode. But I can't reproduce the original error. Unless someone got the Sun controls 8-)

I checked the code, and there might be a case where the idle timer fires in error (i.e. while the simulation is running) when it was in the background before.
I think I’ve fixed it now.

I've tried to replicate every condition yesterday, but getting a source of Bright light is tricky. Then I found a high powered night torch. Best advice on the side. "Don't look in to the light, may cause blindness or death" :)

The bug I’ve found (in the code) was not related to the auto-brightness. In theory it should happen when you pause F-Sim, then put it in the background and wake it up again. In this case it would “forget” a timer without stopping it first, and (depending on your iOS idle timeout) would put your device to sleep two or three minutes later.

I’ve fixed it now and decided to err on the safe side and update the idle timer with every frame that’s drawn, so now it should never happen that the device goes to sleep while the simulation is running.

I’ve been able to reproduce it on build 258, I’ll check if the new build fixes it.
I’m glad you found that one, it’s a pretty annoying bug :)
