Build 270

UNREAD_POSTby Sascha » Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:31 pm

Build 270 is ready (test pilots only)

It should fix all bugs except one (345) which I haven’t been able to reproduce.
Bug list it up to date.

The worst bug was 344, effects/radio volume controls not working on iPhone
I fixed a few other things and added a new recording setting (480x270), which is the new “low” setting.
Previous low and medium (640x360 and 960x540) are now called medium and high, the HD settings are unaffected.
I’ve also slightly increased the encoding bitrate for the 640x360 mode.

I’ve decreased the wheel to ground distance that triggers a bounced landing to 15cm. It was 10cm in version 2.6.x (which was too low) and 20cm in 2.8 (which I think was too high). Please let me know what you think (especially if you think that a good landing counted as bounced, or vice versa).

Thanks a lot!

I've a question about the bounced landing detection.
If the space shuttle lands on one wheel and then lands the 2nd wheel a short time later, but no wing lifts up after that : should it count as a bounced landing ?

Here is a video to illustrate what I mean : (it was detected as a safe landing)

Maybe the 2nd wheel wasn't higher than 15 cm (but as to me it looks to be) so it didn't trigger the bounced landing ? Or does it have to bounce more (more "yo-yo" with the 2 main wheels)

No, a wheel has to touch down and then lift (more than 15cm) again to trigger the bounce detection.

Tested the sliders bug, it is ok now, no more stuck.

I encountered the black screen after cancelling a recording again, here is how it looked like :

After you have clicked on cancel, you get a full black screen .

Ok, so that's the behaviour I saw :) I'm playing with the bounces, so far 15cm is good. I had met some bouncy landings with the 10cm sensibility and none with the 20. Seems like a good compromise.

I think I've found a very minor glitch in the 3D model of the shuttle when looking at the front.
You can see two small white dots, like holes, just under the grey nose.

This is "my bad". They are the rotational reference axis for the nose gear door. They should not be there
